Information Nights and Networking Mixers
Info nights and mixers give all engineering students an opportunity to mix and mingle with Professional Engineers from industry over food and drink. The goal is to help students choose their professional disciplines or future career options and to make professional contacts. Students also gain value from insight of years of experience, diverse career paths, and more.
First Second/ Third Fourth Year Dinners
These are professional development dinners for engineering students in their first and second, or third and fourth years of study. They provide opportunities for students to network with experienced industry professionals as well as faculty members from the Schulich School. At this event, students practice valuable professional communication skills during the networking hour that precedes dinner, as well as throughout the meal. Students and guests are served a three course meal and sit through interesting and engaging speeches. The Engineering Students' Society student and professor awards are also presented at this dinner.
Job Shadow Program
This past March the Engineering Students' Society piloted its first ever job shadow program. Students were sent into industry in an office or field setting and had the opportunity to engage with professionals, see real world applications of their education firsthand, and ask valuable questions. The program was so successful that it will be brought back this coming year.
